Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is in this Himalayan resort town for the weeklong shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Black".

Bachchan arrived late Sunday at the Oberoi's Wildflower Hall resort hotel, some 14 km uphill. The hotel, located deep in the Himalayan woods, is guarded by heavy security.

He drove to Shimla from Chandigarh by road and stopped for a while at Solan town, 48 km from here, where he was mobbed by fans.

The entire film unit is here, except for leading lady Rani Mukerjee who plays the role of a struggling blind girl in the film.

Bachchan is scheduled to shoot in downtown Shimla, including the Ridge, the Viceregal Lodge and Gorton Castle, majestic monuments of colonial India.

Although the rains haven't arrived due to a delayed monsoon, Shimla is enveloped in thick fog.
