The trailer of Bhumi Pednekar's upcoming film 'Badhaai Do' was released couple days back and it has made it clear that the actress is all set to give another entertaining and insightful performance of her career. The film is based on the concept of lavender marriage, which take place between a man and a woman of homosexual orientation and Bhumi will be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao in it.
During a recent chat with PTI, Bhumi opened about her character in the film, a lesbian PT teacher. She said, "Sumi is genuinely inspirational. What truly excited me as an actor was that I saw her vulnerabilities. I have played a lot of strong willed women, women who are out there to get it, but that’s not the case for everyone. Everybody has their coming of age, through experiences you find courage. I saw her do that."
Talking further about the challanges faced by LGBT community in the society, Bhumi said, "It is not easy. One can easily say ‘come out, let people know who you are’, but it is a journey. It is a film about your family accepting you for who you are, about understanding that love at the end of the day is about two individuals, irrespective of any kind of social conditioning we have gone through over the years."
'Badhaai Do' is set to release theatrically on 11th of February.
