Bhumi Pednekar expresses grief on the demise of this woman icon

Chandro Tomar, also known as 'Shooter Dadi' has lost her life to the Covid-19 virus. She became an inspiration for females throughout the nation by taking up the sport of sharpshooting in her sixties and excelling at it. Her feats were told in the film 'Saand ki Aankh' where her character was played by actress, Bhumi Pednekar. Chandro's sister in law, Prakashi, who is also a sharpshooter took to Twitter to express her grief.
She wrote, "Mera saath chhoot gaya, Chandro kaha chali gayi (She has left me, Chandro where have you gone?)"
Chandro Tomar was over 60 years old when she picked up a gun for the first time. She overcame all the social and family obstacles to make a name for herself and pave a path towards her destiny. Bhumi Pednekar got know her closely when she worked on the mvoie about her life. On Chandro Dadi's demise, Bhumi wrote on Twitter, "Devastated by the news of Chandro Dadi's demise. Feels like a part of me is gone. She made her own rules & paved the path for many girl to find their dream. Her legacy will live on in them. Condolences to the family. Am lucky I got to know and be her."
