Bhumi Pednekar celebrates 7 years of 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'

Bhumi Pednekar is one of the most talented and sought after actresses of Bollywood and she has a really unique filmography as well. Recently she completed 7 years in the industry and on the ocassion, she recalled working on her first film, 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' which also starred Ayushmann Khurrana. In this film based on the concept of body positivity, Bhumi played the role of an overweight woman for which she underwent an incredible physical transformation.
According to a recent report in ETimes, Bhumi said, "DLKH was validating for me not just as an actor and a performer but also as a woman who was trying to redefine feminism through her work. I always believed that I became an actor for a purpose - it was to be a part of great cinema and to play great women on screen that aimed at changing the narrative of how a girl is seen by society."
The actress further added, "DLKH gave me the confidence to march forward with this ideal that I had in my head and my body of work speaks for it today. It is the most special film of my life and I owe everything to DLKH because it told me that dreams do become destiny."
Post this, Bhumi continued to work in films which dealt with societal issues. As of now she is working on projects like 'Bheed', 'The Ladykiller', 'Govinda Mera Naam' and others.
