Actor Kartik Aaryan has a lot on his plate right now. He is one of the most sought after actors working today and has multiple interesting projects set to release in coming months. One of his most anticipated films is 'Bhool Bhulaiya 2'. Soon after the announcement of the project, Kartik was heavily criticised for replacing Akshay Kumar in this sequel of 2007 horror comedy 'Bhool Bhulaiya'.

However, director Anees Bazmee has shown faith in the actor and stated that he wanted to work with Kartik ever since his first film was released. During a conversation with a news outlet, Anees said, "The star cast is completely new and Kartik Aaryan is someone whose work I have liked since his first film. If I like someone’s work, it doesn’t matter if the person knows me or not, I find their phone number and congratulate them. He was happy that ‘Anees bhai ka phone aaya.’"

Anees further added, "So we have always had that equation. We would meet at parties, at other times we would be shooting in London at the same time, so we would hang out at coffee shops. He loved the script of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.”
