The trailer of Varun Dhawan's upcoming film 'Bhediya' was released recently and it has managed to intrigue the audience by presenting the popular horror concept of werewolf in a comedic manner. During the trailer launch event of the film, cast members Varun and Kriti along with producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik interacted with fans and the press and answered some questions about the film.
When one of the journalists pointed out about that werewolf stories have their roots in the western world, Dinesh quickly clarified that 'Bhediya' is based entirely on Indian folklore. He stated, “Bhediya is born out of an ancient Indian legend. It is a story that finds its roots in Arunachal. When you watch the film, you will discover how it is 100% Indian in its origin."
Taking his point further, the filmmaker talked about how our countrymen often forget about our own culture. Dinesh said, “We have forgotten what our culture is! The Kohinoor was ours but when it left India, we gradually forgot about its origin. It’s about time we embrace our country’s diverse culture that inherits many vibrant stories."
