When actresses have become glamour dolls, appearing for a couple of songs in skimpy costumes, Bhavana hopes to establish herself as an actress who can perform demanding roles.

The actress, who made her debut with Nammal and went on to make it big with Swapnakoodu, is currently a busy actress in Tamil.

In her forthcoming Malayalam movie Chintamani Kola Case, she has played the role of a young woman, who is raped and murdered, which no other actress would have accepted to perform.

It is said that many actresses refused to do the role of Chintamani. Only Bhavana had the courage to accept it.

According to her ‘if the character is good, I will immediately accept the role.’

It may be recalled that Navya Nair has similarly established her presence in south Indian movies taking challenging roles.
