On Monday, actress Bhavana for the first time took to her social media handle to open up about the abduction-assault case 2017, that involves actor Dileep. The actress spoke about her journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor and the trauma that she experienced.

"This has not been an easy journey. The journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor. For 5 years now, my name and my identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on me. Though I am not the one who had committed the crime, there have been many attempts to humiliate, silence, and isolate me. But at such times I have had some who stepped forward to keep my voice alive. Now when I hear so many voices speak up for me I know that I am not alone in this fight for justice.

To see justice prevail, to get wrongdoers punished, and to ensure no one else goes through such an ordeal again, I shall continue this journey. For all those who are standing with me- a heartfelt thank you for your love."

For the unversed, in February 2017, the popular actress was abducted and molested by a group of men in a moving car while she was traveling from Thrissur to Kochi wrapping up a movie shoot. Mollywood actor Dileep is one of the accused in the case. It is being alleged that the prime accused, 'Pulsar' Suni was paid by actor Dileep to kidnap and assault the female actor. In July 2017, Dileep was arrested and named the alleged mastermind of the attack. However, he was released on bail before the end of three months. The trial of the case is in the last stages at a special court in Kochi.
