Bharats heroism Vs Suryas: Comparing BAN & NPS

One of the least commented upon aspects of Cheif Minister Bharat in 'Bharat Ane Nenu' is his authoritarianism.  He implements decisions because he wants it that way.  Even a decision as radical as complete devolution of governance to local-self bodies is sought to be done without any debate inside or outside the Assembly!  When he says it, everyone is expected to fall in line.  What about discussions?  The outsider that is Bharat is tired of such nuisances!

That's how Mahesh Babu's character is sketched consistently in 'BAN' until he quits as CM in the anti-climax phase.  It's for the first time (perhaps) that Bharat behaves like a democrat in a formal sense!

Reminds you of what you saw in 'Naa Peru Surya'?  Surya (Allu Arjun) is a law unto himself.  He is nothing less than a roguish soldier who unthinkingly snuffs out the life of a Pakistani terrorist.  When his superior (Boman Irani) questions him, he cites the example of Ajmal Kasab.  "What did we do with him?  We interrogated him for months and sent a dossier to Pakistan.  And Pakistan simply said that there is no evidence with it to corroborate India's submissions in the dossier!  That's why I killed the terrorist," Surya says (not exactly in this language).

Such a Bharat-like soldier with an authoritarian streak takes a moral stance in the anti-climax phase in 'NPS'.

However, this is not to say that the (nature of) characterizations of both Bharat and Surya are alike.  Koratala Siva gets Mahesh Babu's character more consistent.  On the other hand, Vamsi's hero can give up his Arjun Reddy-like temperament in 24 hours, thanks to Yoga, cartoons, etc!  Unlike Bharat, Surya actually compromises.  You may add your observations to the list!
