Looks like Bharathiraja has stalled the shooting of his forthcoming film 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' and is in no mood to re-start it till an amicable solution is found to the Mullaiperiyar issue, which has become a bone of contention between Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

"There are two reasons to it. One is that the shooting of the film had to be conducted in and around Theni where tension prevails thanks to the dam issue. And the other is that both the heroines of the movie- Karthika and Iniya- have their roots in Kerala," sources say.

Remember Bharathiraja is always on the forefront when it comes to fighting to protect the rights of Tamils and Tamil Nadu sources say, adding: "Even now he is leading Kollywood citizens in protesting for Mullaiperiyar issue. He led them during an agitation in Chennai on Sunday."

With Ameer playing the protagonist, 'Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum' hit the floors at a grand function in Bharathiraja's native village in Theni district recently. G V Prakash Kumar is composing music for the film, while lyrics are by Vairamuthu.
