Tamil Nadu is seeing a sudden surge in the coronavirus patients which is nearing 5000 and the last two to three days have seen a daily increase of 500. The government has allowed inter-district travel with permission after the relaxation during lockdown 3.0 but it is mandatory for those who move to be in quarantine for the next fourteen days.
Veteran director Bharathiraja has travelled from Chennai to his hometown Theni where he was tested for the coronavirus and the result is negative. But according to the law he has to be in self-isolation in his house for the next fortnight and the municipality has pasted the notice on the wall his premises.
Bharathiraja was pretty active in these testing times by spreading awareness about the virus and also collaborated in many creative works pertaining to the pandemic.
Bharathiraja has since cleared the air that he travelled from Chennai to Theni to visit his ailing sister and he was tested thrice in base, Andipatty and in Theni by the health departments who have given him a clean chit. The celebrated filmmaker is in high spirits as witnessed in the video.
