Bhama opines that women oriented films are not in Kerala because of heroes

In a press meet in Calicut to promote new movie Marupadi` in which Bhama is the heroine, the actress opined that there is dearth of women oriented film in Kerala because of the pressure from male heroes of film industry.

She said that the actors have a feeling that such characters will go above them. The film Marupadi` has questions that are raised by the women of the contemporary society. By acting as a mother of a 14 year old daughter in this movie she is conveying questions to the audience based on the incidents that is taking place in the society. She also noted that it is a great privilege to act in a story which has women as the protagonist.

The actress said that this film is the comeback to the days of films when women were the central character in its stories. This film showcases the dissidence of women against the present day society. Actor Rahman who attended the function said that he didn`t feel so. He said that he doesn`t think that heroes are involving against making women oriented films. If it was like that then he wouldn`t have acted in this film.
