In the recent flick Oru Muthasi Gadha` Bhagyalakshmi appeared in the role of a grandmother.

In an interview given to an online media, she was asked the question why she was not disinclined to do the role of a grandmother. She replied, "I was not unwilling a bit to do this role of a senior citizen. Take for instance, if I say I am not willing to act in a character of an old person. My eldest son is 29 years old; if I had a daughter in his place, I would have been a grandmother by now. So everybody can imagine how old I am now. To act in this character, Jude contacted many veteran actors but they were afraid to take up the role, as they felt they would be getting only similar roles hence onwards. In the movie Pa Va I acted in a role which was much older than this one. In it my pair was Anoop Menon, he is much younger than me. If he could act in such a role with a grizzled hair, why couldn`t I do it?"
