Popular director Sathyan Anthikkad had been maintaining an intense bonding with success films for quite some time. He has been tasting continuous success for the last seven films, starting from Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and Yaathrakkarude Shraddakku which came up more than half a decade back. The director whose success is anchored on his script sense which feature acute sense of humour and closer observations of people and events, rarely comes up with anything that don't fit to the expectations of the masses.

And for this Vishu, this only crowd pullar in Mollywood other than Mammootty and Mohanlal, is back with a new film titled `Bhagyadevatha' (godess of good luck). Starring Jayaram and Kaniha in the lead roles, the movie is shot mostly at the beautiful backwaters of Kuttanad.

The movie stars Jayaram as Benny, an ambitious young man who runs a franchise for a local television channel. He is always dreaming of making it big someday. As a part of these endeavours, he finds a shortcut -To marry some one whose family can offer him big dowry amount. Benny starts daydreaming on how to utilize the amounts to start fresh business deals which can sustain him in the big league. He finds a Kuttanadan beauty, daisy, a soft hearted girl, whose family is good enough to offer generous amounts as dowry. The marriage of Daisy and Benny takes place as per plans, but Benny never gets the promised dowry as Daisy's family meet with some unexpected backlashes. Benny also fined it tough to move on with his wife, as all his plans backfire. The movies go on to tell how daisy boldly tackles the setbacks in her life, and how she make Benny understand that the strength of relationships can overcome material issues.

This is the second films of Kaniha in Malayalam, after her debut movie which went unnoticed. She will be also seen in the role of Kaithery Makkom in the epic movie `Paszhassi Raja'. Young star Narain also makes a brief appearance in this movie which will also feature Sathyan regulars including Nedumudi Venu, Inncoent, Mamukoya, Venu Nagavally, and K P A C Lalitha.

Cameraman Venu, after a gap teams up with Sathyan Anthikkad to handle the cinematography for Bhagyadevatha. The movie features a few songs set to music by Illayaraja. Produced and distributed by Kalasangham, the movie will grace the theatres by the last week of April.
