Looks like director Sasi Kumar of ÂSubramaniapuram fame is in a fix. The reason: imposters!
The first incident seems to have happened a few days back when an aspiring actress claims to have met the director who took away her passport and Rs. 50,000 in cash claiming to get her a role in his upcoming film. But one thing that the girl noticed was that director Sasi who usually has his beard appeared with a clean shave for the interview. When the girl was surprised by the Ânew look of the director and questioned him the response was that he was sporting a new look for his upcoming film.
When another director met this girl for an interview she is supposed to have pointed out that she has given away some money and her passport to director Sasi. When the director came back to Chennai it became the flash news in film circles.
The second incident happened to a PRO in the industry. There was a call on his mobile phone claiming that it was director Sasi Kumar and the director asked the PRO for the names and numbers of budding actress claiming to interview them and fix someone who would suit the role.
When these stories reached Sasi KumarÂs ears the director was distraught and seeked the help of the police. The director has also reportedly revealed that he has got the phone numbers from the actresses and forwarded them to the cops.
Such incidents to mar the public image and private life of an individual will be dealt with strictly with the police force. Director Sasi Kumar has appealed that for some making it big in film is the ambition in life. The public gets to see faces of people who have succeeded in their ambition. But there are many who are toiling hard and ultimately donÂt get a chance till the end. If it is not within us to help them it would be great if people did not use his name to cheat those who were striving to make a mark in films.
Our main purpose of publishing this news is to create an awareness among the film fans and those hunting for a career in films to be alert and not be carried away by phone calls from imposters claiming that they are directors or PROs, and there by becoming victims. The best would be to meet the concerned in person and talk things out one-on-one.
