Aadhav Kannadasan, grandson of ace poet ‘Kaviarasu’ Kannadasan, is making his debut as an actor with ‘Ponmaalai Pozhudhu’, a film directed by debutant A C Durai. The movie was launched in Chennai on Wednesday.

Interestingly, the title ‘Ponmalai Pozhudhu’ is inspired by the first song of Vairamuthu- ‘Idhu Oru Ponmaalai Pozhudhu….’ in the film ‘Nizhalgal’. “It is an out and out love story,” the director says.

“I am happy that my first film has Aadhav Kannadasan, who hails from a great family, as hero. ‘Ponmaalai Pozhudhu’ will be a real treat to those in love and those who want to fall in love,” he adds.

Gayathri, who has played the female lead in ‘Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai’, plays the heroine. Those who had attended the launch function include K Bhagyaraj, G N Rangarajan, A R Murugadoss and G N R Kumaravelan.
