As an animal rights supporter, Amala Akkineni has come out in support of banning Jallikattu.

Speaking at a thinkfest, the yesteryear actress and wife of Nagarjuna, got too honest when she said that the support for Jallikattu from film industry (read Kollywood) is because films are funded by politicians and the stars don't want the source of finances to be wrecked.

Saying that bulls are indeed subjected to torture while the sport is played, Amala said, "Tempers have flown and perhaps it is not a good time to discuss this. But there will be another time, when the voice of the bull is heard. That discussion will happen in the future and it`s perhaps best to have that in court".
