Here is the complete list of top 10 films in the US this year. Only four of them featured big stars, two of them were heroine-oriented entertainers, one of them was totally experimental, and yet another featured a rising star.
At No. 1 is the Ram Charan-Sukumar period drama that delivered a whopping 3.5 million dollars in the US. The monster hit worked solidly on the back of its content. Ram Charan’s overseas market was never as strong as that of Mahesh Babu before but this film changed it for once.
In less than a month, the Mahesh Babu-Koratala Siva movie made USD 3,416,451 and became a blockbuster. The magnitude of this success was disproportionate to the domestic business.
The humble film made USD 2,543,515 at the US BO. For a heroine-centric movie to unleash this magic was a great achievement. Director Nag Ashwin, actors Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan made it possible with their writing and technical departments.
By making USD 2,465,367, this became the biggest Vijay Deverakonda hit in the US. Directed by Parasuram, the family entertainer consolidated the actor’s position.
The NTR-Trivikram movie trailed ‘GG’. By earning USD 2,181,943, it was a proud 2 million dollar mass entertainer.
Despite all the negative talk, the Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram Srinivas movie made USD 2,065,527. A humongous release was helpful.
This one didn’t touch a figure proportionate to the domestic business but was still special for a woman-centric movie. It made USD 1,108,116.
The Varun Tej-Venky Atluri rom-com achieved a feat by pulling off a USD 1,091,802 figure.
This was a very good figure for an out-and-out experimental movie. USD 849,928 is the number. It had a few star faces (Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Regina Cassandra) but no major male actor.
The Nagarjuna-Nani comedy was almost a disaster in the Telugu States. Considering this, its USD 787,017 figure in the US is decent.
