Mohan is an U P school teacher. Known to be a popular teacher of the school and good in taking classes, he was also a good family man giving adequate care to his family consisting of his son Unnikuttan and his wife Savithri, who is also a music teacher. But the only secret desire which often takes the sleep out of Mohan was his intense interest to become a movie actor. He had been the most active person in the local amateur drama circles, who motivated his students to perform better in the school youth festivals.
Though Mohan had considered nothing as better to his family circles, his acting interests has forced him to reach for the tinsel town. In a moment of indecisiveness, Mohan drops his job and leaves his family for making a big name in cinema. With no big acquaintances in the movie field and no big connections, how can Mohan accomplish his desires to become a movie actor?
Megastar Mammootty is once again back to in a role of promise as Mohan, for his new movie titled as. The movie follow the big twist and tales in the life of Mohan, in his journey to stardom.
New face Shruthi Ramakrishnan debuts as Savithri in this movie while the supporting cast includes Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Lal, Nedumudi Venu, Vinayakan, Sukumari, K P A C Lalitha, Master Vivas and Bijukuttan.
Scripted by the director himself, the dialogues of the movie are written by Bipin Chandran. The songs of `Best Actor' are by Santhosh Varma, set to music by Bji Pal. While Ajayan Vincent handles the camera, Joseph Nellickal is in charge of the art department.
Produced by Naushad in the banner of big screen entertainments, the shoot of the movie is continuing at Kochy. `Best Actor' will grace the theatres as a November release.
