A 42-year-old woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison nearly 11 years after she chopped off her ex-boyfriend's genitals in Bengaluru.
The accused woman, identified as Sayeeda Ameena Nahim, has additionally been directed to pay a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh to the victim. Sayeeda was reportedly in a relationship with Mir before he decided to break up with her and marry another woman. Soon after his marriage, on November 29, 2008, Sayeeda, who is a dentist by profession, invited Mir to her clinic on the pretext of congratulating him. She offered him juice spiked with a huge dose of sedatives, which left him unconscious. She then used a surgical instrument to cut off his penis. Sayeeda took him to a hospital when he started bleeding profusely and fled from the spot.
Although Sayeeda tried to prove her innocence in the court, claiming that Mir had met with an accident while travelling with her, the court convicted her after they found that Mir had no other injuries in his body.
