Telugu actress Hema was arrested on Monday for consuming drugs at a rave party in Bengal uru . Initially , she had denied attending the party, but later tested positive for drug use.
Hema received a notice from the authorities after her drug test results came back positive. She was summoned to appear before the Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for questioning. However, she failed to comply, leading the police to seek an arrest warrant against her.
The CCB had already arrested six people in connection with the rave party bust, which took place on May 20 at a GM farmhouse in Bengaluru. According to the FIR, the party was attended by 73 men and 30 women.
The police found that 59 men and 27 women had tested positive for drug use, with a total of 86 out of 103 individuals testing positive. During the raid, they seized MDMA pills, MDMA crystals, hydro cannabis, cocaine, high-end cars, and DJ equipment worth Rs 1.5 crore.
The revelation of widespread drug use at the rave party sparked controversy, highlighting the prevalent drug culture among partygoers. The Karnataka Police's Anti-Narcotics Division had raided the party, which included two Telugu actors, Hema and Ashi Roy, among its attendees.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed that blood samples from the partygoers had been sent to laboratories for analysis. "On the night of May 19, Bengaluru Police's CCB raided a farmhouse at Electronic City based on specific information. Around 100 people were at the event, where drugs and narcotic substances were found," he said.
The rave party, which took place from 5 pm on May 18 to 6 am on May 19, was allegedly organized as a birthday celebration by a person named Vasu from Hyderabad. This comes as a shock as MAA President Manchu Vishnu recently came in support of Hema and demanded proofs for Hema's involvement.
