Income tax officer arrested for 14 lakhs bribe!

An income tax official who had received a bribe of 14 lakhs from an industrialist, has been arrested by cops. Two persons including an income tax official, who had demanded bribe worth 14 lakhs to help the industrialist escape a case, were arrested by CBI officers in Bengaluru,

The IT official was caught red handed when he had planned to receive the bribe in a hotel. Another person who was seen assisting the IT official was also arrested, and 14 lakhs cash was seized. The arrested IT official and the other person were investigated by CBI officials and brought to court.

It was identified that, a Bengaluru based businessman named Srinivas was involved in a disproportionate assets issue, and getting to know this, the IT official Nagesh had called him for enquiry. However, he demanded 14 lakhs to let Srinivas free, but somehow CBI had got information regarding this bribe sought, and nabbed Nagesh and another IT official red handed.
