Popular Bengali TV actress Pratyusha Paul has alleged that she has been constantly harassed by a user on social media who created multiple accounts to send her vulgar and threatening messages.

The actress has claimed that she had blocked the user over 30 times but that he/she came up with a new account to continue to threaten her and her family members as well. Pratyusha then approached the Kolkata cyber crime police and filed a complaint against the anonymous user. The police officials are yet to track down the accused as they have sent an e-mail to Instagram based on the complaint, seeking details of the user. "They (cyber cell) have sent an email to Instagram, asking me to wait as these things take time. I have no choice other than to wait," the actress was reportedly quoted as saying.

According to reports, a case has been registered against the accused under section 354 A (sexual harassment), 354D (any man who assaults or uses criminal force to any woman), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections of the Information Technology Act.
