After years of speculation, Ben Affleck confirmed last evening that he has quit his role as Bruce Wayne and that he won’t be starring in Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming solo feature ‘The Batman’ written and directed by Matt Reeves.
Affleck took to his Twitter page to confirm Deadline’s report that stated that he will not be reprising the role he played in the studio’s DC Extended Universe films Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Suicide Squad. The actor quoted the tweet wishing the director for the 2021 movie and expressed his excitement for the same.
While the director is set to begin the hunt for a new Batman soon enough, rumours have been doing the rounds that singer Nick Jonas might likely land the role.
Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life. https://t.co/GNgyJroMIO
