Ben Affleck Describes The Difference Between DC Movies And Marvel Movies

Earlier this March, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara shared his views on the difference he noted between Marvel and DC Comics movies. Tsujihara stated then, 'The worlds of DC are very different. They're steeped in realism, and they're a little bit edgier than Marvel's movies.'

Soon after, Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman in June described how WB viewed the differences between DC Comics and Marvel movies. Greg said, 'There is intensity and a seriousness of purpose to some of these characters. The filmmakers who are tackling these properties are making great movies about superheroes; they aren't making superhero movies. And when you are trying to make a good movie, you tackle interesting philosophies and character development. There's also humor, which is an important part.'

Now, 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' star Ben Affleck (Batman) has now stepped in and shared his opinion on the difference between DC Comics and Marvel movies. Affleck said, 'It is more mythic, it is more grand in that way, and it is a little more realistic. Just by their nature, these films can't be as funny or as quick or as glib as Marvel movies.'

Based on the statements above, we can come to the conclusion that the common theme of these movies especially DC movies going down a more realistic path than Marvel movies is what's being implied.
