Is 'Beast' a copy of 'Money Heist' and 'Gurkha' ? - Nelson Dilipkumar opens up

The trailer of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' is breaking records on YouTube raising expectations for the film which releases on April 13th worldwide. The trailer suggested that the story is about terrorists hijacking a mall and holding the public there hostage and posing demands to the government.

Reports have emerged on several media that 'Beast' is copied from the Yogi Babu starrer 'Ghurka' and a few other Hollywood films. Nelson Dilipkumar who has directed the film who is known for his quick wit has clarified on the issue.

He has stated that hijacking a public place is not something new to cinema and that 'Beast' will differ in how the situations are handled, the screenplay and the making. He also revealed that he saw Yogi Babu's 'Gurkha' and the story is entirely different but at the same time similarities in a few scenes cannot be avoided.

Nelson also made it clear that there is absolutely no connection between 'Beast' and the Netflix series 'Money Heist' whatsoever. He pointed out that usually his films are different from what the trailers suggest and it is the same case in this film also. He further added that when Thalapathy Vijay called him and told him to write a script for him he wrote 'Beast' just keeping him in mind. He promised that the film will not only be different from his recent films but also satify Vijay fans totally.

'Beast' has music by Anirudh and is produced on a grand scale by Sun Pictures. Vijay and Pooja Hegde play the lead roles supported by Yogi Babu, Aparna Das, Selvaraghavan and Shine Tom Chacko.
