The suspensions on Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul, following their sexist comments on ‘Koffee With Karan,’ were lifted Thursday by the BCCI Committee of Administrators (CoA).
“The decision has been taken with the concurrence of the Learned Amicus Curiae, Mr. P.S. Narasimha. In view of the above, the suspension orders dated 11.01.2019 is immediately lifted pending appointment and adjudication of the allegations by the BCCI Ombudsman,” a statement of the BCCI CoA read. However, the inquiry on the matter is still pending as the Supreme Court has set February 5 as the date to appoint the Ombudsman.
Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have been on the receiving end of severe criticism following their appearance on the famous reality show hosted by Karan Johar. Pandya had brazenly bragged about his prowess with women on the show. Indian team’s skipper Virat Kohli stated that the Indian team doesn’t align with the “inappropriate” views of the batsmen.
