Team India has cliched yet another milestone in International cricket. The India Women's team won the World Cup in the Under 19 category. Notably, this is the first ever U19 Women's World Cup tournament in ICC history. The Shafali Verma-led Indian team is now the first World Champions in Women's U19 cricket.
On January 29, the Indian Women's U19 team defeated England in the finals to lift the prestigious trophy. First, they bowled England out for just 68 and chased the target in just 14 overs. The Women in Blue registered a glorious win at the Senwes Park stadium in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The girls have won honour and amazing prices from the government.
BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, announced a price money of Rs 5 crores to the players and support staff to make the historic moment more special. He also invited them to the third T20I between India and New Zealand (Men's) in Ahmedabad where the entire team will be felicitated for their outstanding victory. Also, the prime minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter to congratulate them.
