After the much acclaimed and interesting movies like 'Pranchiyettan', Indian Rupee ' and 'Spirit',  producer-director Renjith is back with another titled 'Bavoottiyude Namathil'. This time he has written for director G S Vijayan who has got Mammootty to play the title role. In the first opinion, the movie is a simple, old story, just like it propagates as one to be in the posters. But how an old story can graduate to a engrossing watch , just due to the creative sparks and techniques placed in the scripting department is what makes  Bavuttiyude Namathil stand out as a very special film. With Mamootty once again unleash his expertise in a role that remind pou of  his roles in 'loudspeaker' and 'RAappakal', this Bavootty is but a noble hearted orphan, who impress with his most humane ways .

Mammootty's Bavootty works as a chauffeur cum support staff in the rich house of Vanaja and Sethu, who has plenty of fortunes and a big mansion. Bavootty is more like a house member of the family with Sethu believing that it was Bavootty who brought him all the fortunes. Bavootty, whose past time is to act in the lead roles of home videos, also helps Sethu to solve many of his real estate deals, some times even masquerading as many others to help Sethu win the contracts.

Vanaja on the other hand is a good hearted master of the house who is barely interested in the wealth , but deals pretty finely with the other domestic helpers of her house. But as once an unknown individual pops up creating problems for his lady master, Bavotty is left to find ways to solve the problems that she faces.

The movie takes time to gain momentum till the spoof of the much popular `anuragathin' song lets the movie land on in a safe path till interval. After that surprise interval, the movie gets little more serious and movies on in a different path. The highlight of the flick is the firm hold that the scriptwriter and director displays in this half which essentially safe guards the movie from falling off track. With some real observations and intelligent use of local slangs of Malabar and `Neeleshwaram', Renjith and G S Vijayan pushes the movie to the climax without any big causality.

The movie is strengthened by its captivating performances from its lead stars, with each actor pitching in a noteworthy act. Bavootty  as you expect, vintages inestimably from a soaring act by Mammootty , who gives his near-best as the protagonist with such authenticity and controlled grace,  par tone of voice, body posture, facial expressions and eye movements, that it becomes unfeasible to detach the performer from the role. Ditto for Kavya Madhavan  who shares some marvellous scenes with him. While Shankar Ramakrishnan fetches dignity to his character of Sethu, showing us he is grows old in the movie by many years, Kaniha and Rima also does their parts with an authentic look . The technical sides are in par with the content quality of the movie.

On the whole, BAVOOTIYUDE NAMATHIL'  undeniably is one of the fine FEEL GOOD movies that gets  you involved and concerned right from its inception to the culmination. This is not your usual Mollywood masala film, but a serious family movie that has a voice, that makes you think of positive virtues and that makes a little impact in you, too.
