Battle between beauties!
In the coming months, it will be a battle between beauties! From established actresses to fledgling damsels, they are going to vie for the top slot. Those who are already among the most reckoned will have to ensure that they sustain their position.
IndiaGlitz takes a look at the stars and upstarts and all those in between, who are out to find their place in the industry in the next three months.
Mehreen
Remind her of Kajal Aggarwal, Mehrene will tell you she is totally Punjabi unlike other top brass actresses. The first big entrant this year (besides Sonarika of Speedunnodu fame), Mehrene is Hanu Raghavapudi's debutante 'rakshasi'. Expectations are that she will be another Lavanya Tripathi. She has already been offered some films in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. May be, the Krishnagadi Veera Prema Gaadha girl is the next sensation.
Adah Sharma
Heart Attack may have failed to make her a 'garam' actress in Tollywood, but Adah promises to be a sought-after lass after Garam. After this, she will have a release in the form of Kshanam, a PVP production. Will she spring a surprise? Wait and watch.
Nikki Galrani
The Bengaluru beauty is debuting in Telugu with Sunil's Krishnashtami. The promising debutante has a good kick-start in the form of a film under Dil Raju. Will she be a most sought-after actress after Krishnashtami's release? Stealing the show like Krishna steals butter is her challenge!
Tamannah
Her 'Bachelor Babu' avatar may have sanked without a trace, but the Baahubali rebel holds with Oopiri as well as Baahubali-The Conclusion. Importantly, both these films are out to help her get a pan-South Indian and a pan-Indian reach (once again), respectively.
Kajal Aggarwal
The drop-dead gorgeous diva is still the reigning 'Darling' of Tollywood. Having two sensational releases with two of the biggest behemoths of Tollywood within a span of a month is no small thing. Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Brahmotsavam are all set to perpetuate her stardom.
Rakul Preet Singh
After a slew of flops like Current Theega, Pandaga Chesko, Rough, Kick-2, and Bruce Lee, Rakul has had a tremendous start with the stupendous success of Nannaku Prematho. Will she repeat the feat with Sarrainodu? If yes, Rakul will have joined the ranks of ace actresses as far as credibility is concerned.
Catherine Tresa
Iddarammayilatho was a great start. But Paisaa, and Errabus did not give her a boost. Rudramadevi portrayed her in regale avatar. However, we expect Boyapati Sreenu to turnaround things for Chatherine with her political role in Sarrainodu. She is playing an MLA's role in this film. Watch the fun as Allu Arjun locks horns with her. We are in for a lady villain, albeit temporarily!
Samantha Ruth Prabhu
A.. Aa.. on April 22 and Brahmotsavam on April 29 means Samantha will have two releases on two consecutive Fridays. Already a superstar damsel, she has a special year ahead. The closest one to compete with her is Kajal Aggarwal, who has two biggest projects in a span of a month. Let's see who will be the summer champ!
Rashi Khanna
It has been a 'Jil'-full career for her. This year, she has a 'Supreme' release and if she manages to strike gold opposite a happening actor like Sai Dharam Tej, there will be no looking back for her.
Anupama Parameswaran
Two films lined up for release in a span of less than two months. A.. Aa.. and Premam. She has an edge because of names like Trivikram Srinivas, Nithiin, and Naga Chaitanya. If she manages to deliver a hit.
