Battle at the Box Office

With Deepavali round the corner, several films are gearing up for a release for the festive occasion. The box office battle will be intense in the coming month. It would be a gala time for fans who can throng theatres to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors.
Vijay's Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, Madhavan's 'Evano Oruvan', Suriya - Asin starrer 'Vel', Jeevan's 'Machaakkaran', Sathyaraj's 'Kanamoochi Yaenada' and Dhanush 'Polladhavan' are among the biggies ready to hit the screens on Deepavali day.
For now several small and medium budget films are finding their way at the cinema halls to capitalize on the gain till the period before Deepavali. For now, movies including Vishal's 'Malaikottai', Ranjith's 'Pasupathy C/O Rasakapalayam', director Vasanth's 'Sathumpodaathay', Arjun starrer 'Marudhamalai, 'Kattradhu Tamil' starring Jeeva are fighting it out for honors at the box office.
'Pasuopathy C/O Rasakapalayam', directed by Selvabharathy is loaded with mother-son sentiment. Vivek's comedy and Ranjith's neat performance has helped the movie do well in rural centres. Vasanth's much-hyped 'Sathumpodaathay', a thriller film starring Prithviraj, Padmapriya and Nithin Sathya, is doing a brisk business in urban centres. Nithin Sathya's performance coupled with good background score by Yuvanshankar raja has done the trick.
Arjun's 'Marudhamalai', directed by Suraj, has completed a 50-day run and still manages to draw good crowds. Vadivelu's comedy is the major highlight of the movie. Jeeva's 'Kattradhu Tamil', directed by Ram, carries a lofty theme. An off-beat movie, it dwells on a serious theme. Jeeva's performance and the strong screenplay by Ram are the strong points of the movie.
Continuing his supremacy at the box office is Vishal's 'Malaikottai'. Director Boopathy Pandian has rendered an action-packed entertainer in a lighter vein and Vishal, Priyamani rocks in the movie.
Some of the small and medium-budget movies like 'Gnyabagam Varudhae' starring Venkat Prabhu, Hamsavardhan's 'Piragu' are also running in few screens in Tamilnadu.
With Deepavali round the corner, it would be a gala time at the box office and theatres are gearing up for new releases.
