Barrelakka (Sirisha), a recent contender in the Telangana assembly elections, has officially filed a complaint with the state women’s commission against the controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, also known as RGV. The filmmaker, infamous for his sensational works, made comments about Barrelakka during the pre-release event of his film 'Vyuham,' suggesting that someone without a name, like Barrelakka, became famous. Taking these remarks seriously, Barrelakka, through her lawyer Rajesh Kumar, lodged a formal complaint with the Telangana Women’s Commission against RGV.

The incident unfolded on the 24th of this month, during the pre-release event of 'Vyuham,' where RGV's comments prompted Barrelakka to seek intervention from the Women’s Commission, urging them to take appropriate action against the filmmaker.In a parallel development, the much-anticipated release of RGV’s film 'Vyuham' today faced a setback, as the Telangana High Court issued an order preventing its release. The court suspended the censor certificate for the film until January 11, contributing to the ongoing legal challenges surrounding the movie.

The High Court's decision to halt the release of Ram Gopal Varma’s 'Vyuham' did not involve interference from TDP leaders, marking a departure from the prevailing war of words between Janasena and TDP leaders over the film.Barrelakka, who entered the political arena as an independent candidate from the Kolhapur constituency in Nagar Kurnool district, garnered significant support during the recent elections. With 5,754 votes cast in her favor, she received backing from various quarters, including NRIs, former IPS officers, legal professionals, and film actors. Her complaint against RGV reflects a commitment to addressing concerns related to gender-based comments and underscores the broader discourse surrounding the film's controversies and legal entanglements.

RGV as is his wont is running into various controversies with all sections of people and many feel that it is his strategy to get media attention on his upcoming film Vyuham.
