Bapu, Balayya induce nostalgia

As expected, Sri Rama Rajyam, released yesterday, received an almost universal audience approval. While the costly film is making the senior cine goers go down the memory lane, the youngsters are finding the feel very contemporary, thanks to Illayaraja.

Vintage Bapu's depiction reminds his fans of his uncomplicated style. If Bapu is at his usual best in this differently-executed mythological film, Balakrishna's studied portrayal of Rama's passion is making everyone see in him a potential Nandi award winner.

Illayaraja's musical output is making wonders for the film. It was his consciously-evolved schema to give an innovative music for this mythological so that it doesn't sound cliched. This much he even told Bapu. The Maestro has been proven right!

With both technical and artistic brilliance lending an aura to SRR, the film is set to have the cash registers ringing for the next few weeks.

Modest doesn't in any way mean that the film is being made on a shoestring budget.
