Legendary Bollywood music composer Bappil Lahiri passed away this morning. He was 69 and Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of Criticare Hospital in Mumbai stated "Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight,"
Lahiri pioneered and popularised disco music in India ruling the music scene for almost two decaded in the 80s and 90s. But he was active all his life with his last song "Bhankas" featuring in the 2020 super hit film 'Baaghi 3' starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor. He also appeared on 'Bigg Boss 15' hosted by Salman Khan to promote his grandson Swasthik's "Bachcha Party".
The colorful Bappi Lahiri has composed music for the Tamil films 'Apoorva Sagodarikal', 'Paadum Vanambadi' and 'Kizhakku Africavil Sheela' in East Africa. He has also done a lot of films in Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati apart from Hindi and Bengali. Film personalities and fans are taking to social media to pay tributes to one of the most loved entertainers Bollywood has ever seen.
