Bank strikes, holidays to affect banking services
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
In these 6 days, public sector banks in India won't be working for 5 days in total (there is an exception, which is mentioned later in this report). Starting from today (Friday), banks are going to be on a spree of holidays/regular offs. Monday (December 24) is the only day when the customers can get their works done at the banks.
Here are the details of bank holidays/offs along with the reason:
December 21 (Friday): All India Bank Officers' Confederation has called for a strike. Bank employees not affiliated to AIBOC are working today.
December 22 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday off, which is a regular thing.
December 23 (Sunday): It's a no-brainer.
December 25 (Tuesday): Merry Christmas, folks!
December 26 (Wednesday): United Forum of Bank Unions has called for a strike. Over 10 lakh bank employees will strike against the proposed mergers of state-run banks.
