The Bank of Baroda, which is owned by the government, wants to sell a property that belongs to actor and current BJP Member of Parliament, Sunny Deol. They're doing this to get back ₹56 crore. The e-auction is scheduled for August 25. Sunny Deol, who recently enjoyed box office success with his film Gaddar 2, owes the bank ₹55.99 crore along with interest and penalties since December 2022, according to the bank's public tender announcement.

The property in question, Sunny Villa, situated on Gandhigram Road in Juhu, Mumbai, has been attached by the bank. The reserve price for the auction is set at ₹51.43 crore, with an earnest money deposit of ₹5.14 crore. Additionally, the property houses Sunny Sounds, owned by the Deols, which acts as the corporate guarantor for the loan. Actor-politician Dharmendra, Sunny Deol's father, serves as the personal guarantor for the debt.

While specifics about the loan amount and additional guarantees aren't provided, the bank has stated that the property's value is lower than the borrower's outstanding debt. The Deols was given the option to clear the dues to avoid the auction as per the provisions of the Sarfaesi Act of 2002.

Officially known as Ajay Singh Dharmendra Deol, the actor represents the BJP from the Punjab seat. He secured a decisive victory in the 2019 elections, defeating the then Congress member Sunil Jhakar. The seat was previously held by actor Vinod Khanna for the Congress party.
