In this section, we are going to review the songs from 'Bangarraju', which is a Zee Music South album.
Vaasivaadi Tassadiyya
Singers: Mohana Bhogaraju, Shahiti Chaganti, Harshavardhan Chavali
Lyricist: Kalyan Krishna Kurasala
Christened as the Party Song Of The Year, this one has the senior Akkineni shaking a leg with the junior Akkineni. Anup Rubens picks ideas and notes from jamboree-enshrined songs, a genre we are very familiar with as listeners and audiences. We have heard it all before. This is not a novel song in terms of music. The director doubles up as the lyricist and indulges everyone to amp up the happy song. The singers are fine.
Naa Kosam
Singer: Sid Sriram
Lyricist: Balaji
The lyrics are poetic as well as conversational. They are easy to understand unless you have to look up the meaning of words like 'Harivillu'. Sid Sriram has been on a roll, rendering songs for films as different as 'Radhe Shyam', 'Pushpa' and 'Bangarraju'. His voice is rich in depth and melody. Anup Rubens has animated the genre with his excellent tuning. This one is in the league of his best melodies.
Laddunda
Singers: Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dhanunjay, Mohana Bogaraju, Nuthana Mohan, and Haripriya
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar
The curtain raiser of a song introduces us to the fantastical and fun-filled world of Bangarraju in a celestial setup. Dhanunjay, Mohana Bogaraju and others are lively. Their singing adds vivacious texture to Anup Rubens' impressive composition. Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are laced with the value of nostalgia in the way they write dialogues around the hero's naughty, attractive character.
