Nagarjuna's 'Bangarraju' to go on the floors in June. This is what the headlines said in 2020. A year before that, in 2019, some media reports claimed that Naga Chaitanya would team up with his father for the sequel to 'Soggade Chinni Nayana'. They might have stretched their imagination a bit and said that Chay's name in the film would be Bulli Bangarraju. Keerthy Suresh was paired up with Chay in the project in the media imagination.
In 2018, ahead of the release of 'Nela Ticket', director Kalyan Krishna said that he would be working on the script of 'Bangarraju'. The media once again went into overdrive to talk about the film. In 2017, too, there were many reports about Nag planning the film with Kalyan Krishna, his 'Soggade..' director.
If you are a bit patient, the first talk about the project was kickstarted in January 2016. This is March 2021. The project has remained mostly in the minds of the media for the most part in these five years. Even the likes of 'Baahubali' haven't been written about for these many years.
Announcing the release date of 'Wild Dog' on Monday, Nagarjuna said that 'Bangarraju' might go on the floors in June or July this year. This promise came with a rider. If everything goes well... This rider has been used time and again, over the years. If everything goes well. Whatever that means.
The media's interest in the sequel to an average film has been undying since 2016. Wonder if even Nagarjuna is that bothered about the project...
