Controversial film producer Bandla Ganesh has been sentenced to six months jail term and a fine of Rs. 15.86 lacs in relation to the pending remuneration that he owes to writer Vakkantham Vamsi.
Vamsi, who had penned the story of Puri Jagannadh-NTR's 'Temper', produced by Ganesh, didn't receive any remuneration. The producer had issued a cheque worth Rs. 25 lacs in Vamsi's favour, but the same was not honoured.
Over the years, the payment has been pending. Tired, the writer moved a special court in Erramanjil, Hyderabad.
Ganesh, who is no stranger to such financial controversies, has been granted bail.
