Comedy actor and star producer Bandla Ganesh has signed up to play a lead man in a film to be directed by newcomer Venkat Chandra. Bankrolled by Swathi Chandra of Yash Rishi Films, the film was announced today.

A remake of a Tamil-language drama titled 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7', the film will go on the floors in the first week of September. The 'Gabbar Singh' director will be reprising R Parthipen from the original.

For the unversed, the Tamil original is a critically-acclaimed movie that had won the National Film Award (Special Jury Award) and the National Film Award for Best Audiography. It has also found a place in the Limca Book of Records for being a one-man movie. The movie is now being remade in Hindi as well, with Abhishek Bachchan as the hero.

Bandla Ganesh was recently seen in movies such as 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' and 'Crazy Uncles'.
