While its become a fad in the industry for Tamil films to be remade in Hindi, a few from the north see remakes in here as well. Recently Salman Khan starrer ÂDabangg was remade as ÂOsthi with Simbu.
Now the latest buzz is that B-townÂs premium production banner Yash Raj Films is going to remake its most loved film ÂBand Baaja Baaraat into south languages.
The film that raked in moolah in 2010, stars Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. The film was well acclaimed and its fresh, lead pair had become favourites among youngsters. According to sources, YRF is quite keen to remake the film but as of now has not sealed any plans.
If sources are to be believed, BBBÂs remake - Tamil, Telugu and Kannada - will soon go on floors and the project will have new faces in the languages!
Although there are several south filmmakers who are lined up for the filmÂs remake, YRF has not confirmed about selling its rights to anyone.
Not only BBB, the banner is also considering remaking its other popular films ÂBunty Aur Babli (Abhishek Bachchan-Rani Mukherji) and ÂDil To Pagal Hai (Shahrukh Khan - Madhuri Dixit - Karisma Kapoor) in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Producer Aditya Chopra apparently realised the potential in south cine market and recently launched a south division of the banner, YRF DeccanÂ
