While it’s common to see many south blockbusters entering B-town as remakes, gradually Hindi movies are also going for south versions. Recently Salman Khan starrer, Bollywood hit ‘Dabangg’ has been transformed into ‘Osthi’ and ‘Gabbar Singh’ for Tamil and Telugu audience respectively. Now latest buzz is that B-town’s premium production banner Yash Raj Films is going to remake its most loved film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ into south languages.

One of the high grosser film of 2010, ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ (BBB) stars Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. The film was well acclaimed and its fresh, lead pair had become favourites among youngsters. According to sources, YRF is quite keen to remake the film but as of now have not sealed any plans.

If sources are to be believed, BBB’s remake - Tamil, Telugu and Kannada - will soon go on floors and the project will have new faces.

Although there are several south filmmakers are lined up for the film’s remake, YRF has not confirmed about selling its rights to anyone.

Not only BBB, the banner is also considering to remake its other popular films ‘Bunty aur Babli’ (Abhishek Bachchan-Rani Mukherji) and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ (Shah Rukh Khan-Madhuri Dixit-Karisma Kapoor) in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Producer Aditya Chopra apparently realised the potential in south cine market and recently launched a south division of the banner, YRF Deccan.
