Umesh Banakar, Vice President of KFCC normally does not lose temper. On Wednesday evening at the audio release of ‘Arnyani’ Kannada cinema he was angry on two issues – posters restriction by Bengaluru City Corporation and rush of films in Kannada every week.

The new guideline of BBMP (Brihat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) is not in support of Kannada cinema industry. Firstly they have cancelled hoardings at different place and now putting up in front of the theatres is also wrong is an issue to be sorted out. Where producers can put the posters of his film? Every exhibitor is entitled to put up posters to come up in front of theatres.

On the rush of seven to nine films in Kannada hitting every week Umesh Banakar says the meeting has failed in convincing the producers. Some of them say our astrologer has approved this date for release. These things should stop first. Umesh Banakar quoted the example of an astrologer making forecast that the film would make Rs.5 crores in case it is released on so and so date. In the box office that film crumbled and producer lost all his investment.

KFCC is not able to restrict such producers because they would file cases against apex body for not allow to release films. KFCC is already fighting 17 case in the court says Banakar.
