We know that Shruti Hassan has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Ravi Teja's Balupu. Shruti Hassan has told IndiaGlitz that she is playing a comedy role in the movie. This Gopichand Malineni directorial will be her first attempt at comedy.

"Yes, I am doing a movie with Ravi Teja," Shruthi confirms the development, adding: "I am doing a role filled with humour. This is my maiden attempt in comedy."

She has played contrasting roles since her first film. The varied roles she has played in Oh My Friend, 3 and Gabbar Singh prove her willingness to experiment.

In the meantime, Shruthi is also busy with her music album, for which she has tied up with international musicians. The multitalented daughter of the multitalented Kamal Haasan is an actress-singer-musician, it may be noted.
