C Kalyan, whose 'Jai Simha' will release on January 12, in this interview says that the film is a pucca mass entertainer that is competitive. He also talks about the film's highlights, Balayya's dedication, and more.
'Jai Simha' has been completed in a relatively lesser number of days. How was it possible?
It's a team effort, but I must especially thank Balakrishna garu for his co-operation. But for him, it wouldn't have been possible. The release formalities are fast getting completed. We have submitted our film to the Censor Board and its report is expected to be out by Thursday evening.
What can we expect from Chirantan Bhatt's music and Balakrishna's dances?
The songs are really entertaining. I must thank Balakrishna garu for taking up to do difficult dance moves even though we said no. The kind of steps that youngsters like Allu Arjun and Ram Charan do, he has done them!
What are the other highlights?
An episode shot in Kumbakonam amidst 2000 purohits is a major highlight. The flashback episode in Vizag is another high point. Then, in the climax, the audiences are going to rise from their seats and cheer.
The film features a large casting. Who are all the main members of the cast?
Besides the hero's role, Prakash Raj, Nayanthara and Hari Priya will be seen in key roles. Their performances will be long remembered after the audiences watch 'Jai Simha'.
Balayya and Nayan have teamed up once again after 'Simha' and 'Sri Rama Rajyam'. Tell us about their chemistry.
Theirs is a successful combination. And I am sure that this time too, they are going to deliver a big hit. Actually, Nayanthara had said no for the movie as she couldn't accommodate dates. But once she listened to KS Ravikumar's narration, she was willing to come on board. The track involving them will be lapped up by both male and female audiences.
KS Ravikumar is a senior name. How has the film come out? It's also rumoured that there were cost overruns. What is the truth?
He has once again proved his dexterity. The way the script has been converted to visuals is splendid.
It's true that the film has cost more than what we had planned for. That said, the budget is worth it.
There are other releases, especially 'Agnyaathavaasi' and 'Gang', for Sankranthi. Is it not too competitive?
There is definitely competition, but our film has the substance to withstand everything. It's an out-and-out mass entertainer.
When are 'Intelligent' and '1945' releasing?
The Sai Dharam Tej-VV Vinayak movie will release on February 9. I am also doing '1945' with Rana Daggubati. It will release in Summer.
