Nandamuri Balakrishna himself stated more than once that his 100th film is going to be Aditya 999. He categorically said that his son Mokshagna will debut as his son in this sci-fi film. News about Singeetham Srinivasa Rao planning to take Balakrishna back to the grand Kakatiya days also made rounds.

However, Balayya is learnt to be entertaining second thoughts about doing the film. Based on feedback from his fans and critics, Balayya is now not so keen on going for a genre like sci-fi, especially at a time when convincing the audience by making anything less than a spectacular show is not easy in the 21st Century.
