As someone who runs a famous cancer treatment centre in Hyderabad, actor and Hindupur MLA, Nandamuri Balakrishna, has done his bit to promote awareness about cancer.

He joined hands with the 'Life Again' Foundation, which has conducted cancer awareness program at Vizag Ramakrishna Beach. On Saturday, a group of members walked from Kalimatha Temple to YMCA. Yesteryear actress Gouthami led the program.

Balayya said, "Gouthami has been conducting excellent programs in the Telugu States to give proper awareness on cancer. My father NT Rama Rao garu had initiated Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital to assist poor cancer patients. The hospital was started with 40 beds and now it has a total of 512 beds.”

The 'Jai Simha' actor also greeted a few survivors of cancer.

Gauthami said, “Though Balakrishna is very busy with shootings, he came forward to give the fullest support to the cancer awareness program. I thank Balayya Babu for giving awareness to many and providing treatment to cancer patients through Basavatarakam Hospital. Taking inspiration from him, everyone should put their efforts to create public awareness about cancer."
