Balakrishna opens up on tickets issue, doing multi-starrer

Nandamuri Balakrishna today had a Darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga at the famous Kanaka Durgamma Temple in Vijayawada. He was flanked by Boyapati Srinu and producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, the actor said that 'Akhanda' has been running successfully, thanks to the blessings of the Goddess. I am glad that our film has been watched by the family audience. In a bygone era, my father's films highlighted the devotional aspect. 'Akhanda' has highlighted the nature of Sanatana Dharma, he said.

Balayya added that the question of low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh did feature in their discussions prior to the film's release. Since we were confident, we came out with the release. We took a daring step, he added. When asked whether he would be willing to do a multi-starrer, Balayya said that he will go for it if the right story comes his way.

On Tuesday, the AP High Court struck down the GO that lowered the ticket prices in the State. Balayya said that it has to be seen what the government is going to do (in terms of filing a review petition or appealing in the apex court).

On his part, the producer said that 'Akhanda' is a purely theatrical experience. The director thanked everyone for making the cinema a victor!
