Nandamuri Balakrishna, actor and Member of Legislative Assembly, Andhra Pradesh, has mourned the death of PV Parabrahma Sastry, the eminent Telugu historian who passed away yesterday. Known for his incisive research and original works which have educated students and scholars alike, he has left behind a legacy which is difficult to be ignored.

Balayya has said in his obituary to Sastry, "We have learnt many less known facts about Gautamiputra Satakarni's life by reading Sastry garu. It's his research that has been used (by the writers of our film). It's painful to learn that such a great personality is no more. As someone who loves Telugu language, I hereby promise that I will stand by Sastry garu's family".

The entire team of the film Gautamiputra Satakarni, including director Krish, paid tributes to Sastry.
