The Movie Artists Association has been planning to build a building for itself in Hyderabad for the past 12 years. It has failed to do so because of several issues, one of which is that it is yet to secure a piece of land at Film Nagar from the government.
Nandamuri Balakrishna has waded into the issue. In his latest interview, Balayya said that the film personalities who have rubbed shoulders with the who's who of the Telangana government have failed to secure the needed land for the building.
Recently, Manchu Vishnu said that he and his family will donate every single penny that is needed for the construction of the building. "I am ready to partner with them (the Manchu family), " the 'Akhanda' actor said.
The 'Legend' and 'Jai Simha' actor added that some film personalities had traveled in first-class to raise funds for the MAA building. "What happened to that endeavor?" he asked. The TDP leader said that a magnificent Mayasabha-like building can be made a reality if the whole industry stands united on the issue.
The senior actor, who represents Hindupur in the AP Assembly, also suggested that he doesn't believe in localite vs non-localite distinction with respect to the MAA elections.
The actor-politician opined that Tollywood is a glamorous industry and people shouldn't wash dirty linen in public.
